Resumo

Dairy cattle farming plays a strategic role in the municipality of Goiás, integrating the rural economy and the way of life of local communities. However, challenges related to land concentration, technological heterogeneity, and limited market access constrain the growth potential and income of family farmers. In this context, A2A2 milk emerges as a concrete opportunity to add value to dairy production, aligning with market trends that favor functional and healthy foods. This study aimed to analyze the potential of A2A2 milk production and commercialization for income generation among producers in the municipality of Goiás, considering the characterization of local dairy farming, the conditions for forming specialized herds, and market possibilities. The bibliographic research revealed that the genetic profile of the predominant herd facilitates the transition to A2A2 milk production and that both local and regional markets offer promising niches for its commercialization. However, the success of this strategy depends on coordinated actions involving training, collective organization, and the development of effective market channels.
